4 months old!

Laila is going to be 4 months old in just a few days! It has been so fun to see how much she's grown these past couple of months. She is like a little person now! I know there will be even more big changes in the months to come. Since I've written last, Laila has rolled over a few times from her tummy to her back! Nate saw her do it the first time when I wasn't looking, and then she did it again for both of us later that day. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to catch it on video yet, so I'll try to do that soon. Laila also got her ears pierced! This past weekend my mom and sister and Scooter (Holly's Toy Schnoodle puppy) came for a visit. They went with Nate and I to get them done. My Aunt DeDe met up with us as well. Laila did great! She cried for a second or two on each ear and then she was fine! I've taken lots of pictures these past few weeks, so enjoy!

Happy 30th Anniversary!!!

We just wanted to say Happy 30th to Grandy and Grammy Lail! You both are such wonderful parents and grandparents! We feel so blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you for all you do for our family. We wish you 30+ more wonderful years together! Can't wait until we see you again! We miss you and love you lots!

Yesterday morning I took some really cute video of Laila right after she woke up! We took her swaddle blanket off (which my dad jokingly calls her straight jacket!) and we got some funny clips of her stretching and smiling at us! I also took some video of her having fun in her play gym. The clips are about 2 minutes each. If you want to hear her cute little baby talk during the video, you'll probably need to pause the music player on the right side. 3 months old!!!

This past Tuesday Laila turned 3 months old! She is strong and healthy and seems to be a very happy baby girl, although she definitely lets us know when she is not happy! Her new thing is staring at her fingers and toes. She also loves playing on her play gym and is getting better at playing on her surfboard tummy mat as her neck and back muscles are getting stronger. It seems like she is discovering her voice more now too because she has been making so many funny noises lately. Her smiles are still the best part of our days though! Any one that knows me, knows I am not a morning person, but waking up to her smile energizes me and keeps me going throughout the day, no matter how little sleep I got the night before. Nate and I pray every day that God would help us to be good parents and to make the right decisions. Please continue to pray with us for our growing family. Parenthood and this life God has given us is definitely an adventure, but I am so thankful that I have a wonderful husband and daughter to share it with.

This past weekend Nate's dad and his wife Donna (Grandpa and Nonna) came for a visit! We had a great time and got some really cute pictures. It reminded us once again that we wish we lived a little closer to our immediate family so they could watch Laila grow up. We love so many things about Tallahassee and are thankful for the family and friends that we do have here, but we definitely miss having our parents and siblings close by. Unless God opens up the door for us to be back down in Orlando though, weekend visits and pictures and updates on the blog will have to do. That is another prayer of ours right now, that God would make it perfectly clear where we are supposed to be. We secretly wish we could mix the best of both worlds, but since we can't, we need God's wisdom on where he wants us to be in the future.

Laila's 1st wedding (outside of the womb)!!!

This past weekend we went to Cumming, Georgia for my good friend, Staci Furneaux's wedding. Staci and I have practically known each other since we were born and even though we haven't lived in the same place for a long time, we have always kept in touch and been good friends. She was in my wedding as well. I felt so honored to be one of her bridesmaids. This was Laila's first wedding, outside of the womb! My parents, brother, and sister were also there. We all had a great time. Along with meeting Staci, Bryan, and the other Furneaux family members, Laila also got to meet Staci & Bryan's daughter Ansley for the first time. I got some cute pictures below of Ansley giving Laila hugs and kisses! Congratulations again to Mr. and Mrs. Bailey! The wedding was absolutely beautiful and I am so happy for you guys!

12 weeks old!

Laila had her regular check-up on Monday and Dr. Vicki said she was doing great. She is now 12 pounds, 8 1/2 ounces and 23 inches long. She is growing up so fast! She will be exactly 3 months old next week on September 2nd. Below are some miscellaneous pictures of her when she was 10 and 11 weeks old.

I also wanted to share a quote that I saw recently. My mom and I actually saw it written on a big picture frame in Micanopy a few weeks back. It brought tears to our eyes because it is so true.

"Before you were conceived I wanted you. Before you were born I loved you. Before you were here one hour I would die for you."

More fun in August!

A little over a week ago we went down to Orlando for one night for my 10-year high school reunion. Laila got to go with us since I wasn't quite comfortable leaving her for so long yet. My mom also came along to help out with her while I was there early to set up. Even though I felt a little distracted with her there and had to leave a few times to feed her, it was so nice to be able to introduce her to some of my old classmates and friends!

We had a great time that weekend, even though it was a very short trip. We even got some cute pictures of her playing with Grandy Lail before we left. She is about 9 1/2 weeks old in these pictures.

These next few pictures are ones I took this past week (at 10 weeks old) of her playing in her Baby Einstein play-gym, testing out her new jumper, and of her just being cute! Her baby acne is starting to clear up now (the poor thing had it for over a month) so I think her face looks a lot better in these next few pictures.
