Laila's 1st wedding (outside of the womb)!!!

This past weekend we went to Cumming, Georgia for my good friend, Staci Furneaux's wedding. Staci and I have practically known each other since we were born and even though we haven't lived in the same place for a long time, we have always kept in touch and been good friends. She was in my wedding as well. I felt so honored to be one of her bridesmaids. This was Laila's first wedding, outside of the womb! My parents, brother, and sister were also there. We all had a great time. Along with meeting Staci, Bryan, and the other Furneaux family members, Laila also got to meet Staci & Bryan's daughter Ansley for the first time. I got some cute pictures below of Ansley giving Laila hugs and kisses! Congratulations again to Mr. and Mrs. Bailey! The wedding was absolutely beautiful and I am so happy for you guys!

12 weeks old!

Laila had her regular check-up on Monday and Dr. Vicki said she was doing great. She is now 12 pounds, 8 1/2 ounces and 23 inches long. She is growing up so fast! She will be exactly 3 months old next week on September 2nd. Below are some miscellaneous pictures of her when she was 10 and 11 weeks old.

I also wanted to share a quote that I saw recently. My mom and I actually saw it written on a big picture frame in Micanopy a few weeks back. It brought tears to our eyes because it is so true.

"Before you were conceived I wanted you. Before you were born I loved you. Before you were here one hour I would die for you."

More fun in August!

A little over a week ago we went down to Orlando for one night for my 10-year high school reunion. Laila got to go with us since I wasn't quite comfortable leaving her for so long yet. My mom also came along to help out with her while I was there early to set up. Even though I felt a little distracted with her there and had to leave a few times to feed her, it was so nice to be able to introduce her to some of my old classmates and friends!

We had a great time that weekend, even though it was a very short trip. We even got some cute pictures of her playing with Grandy Lail before we left. She is about 9 1/2 weeks old in these pictures.

These next few pictures are ones I took this past week (at 10 weeks old) of her playing in her Baby Einstein play-gym, testing out her new jumper, and of her just being cute! Her baby acne is starting to clear up now (the poor thing had it for over a month) so I think her face looks a lot better in these next few pictures.

Mini Vacations

The first weekend in August Laila and I met my mom and sister in Micanopy, FL for a girl's weekend! We stayed in a beautifiul Bed and Breakfast and did some antique shopping. Even though it was hard to be away from daddy for the first time for one night, we had a blast! (I don't know if I can say the same though for the other guests in the Bed and Breakfast when Laila was in one of her fussy moods at bed time!!! I'm afraid the walls were a little thin! Oh well!)

On Nate's day off during the first week of August we took a day trip to St. George Island, which isn't too far from Tallahassee. We had beautiful weather and Laila really seemed to enjoy it. We had a big canopy with a little portable bassinet for her to sleep in (thanks to my Aunt DeDe for letting us borrow that!). It felt nice to sit back and enjoy the breeze in the shade and to get some sun!

It's been a busy month since I've written last! I feel like I haven't had time to sit down to send out updates in forever. Nate is off today so I was able to get these pictures uploaded while he helped out with Laila! I'll try to catch you up to date with what we've been up to in these next few posts. She is 11 weeks old now and is doing great! We can't believe how much she is growing up and changing every day. She is smiling and baby talking to us all the time. That is our absolute favorite thing! We go for her regular check up next week but I'm thinking she is probably over 12 pounds now.

The pictures below are from a few weeks back when I was trying to catch her smiling while she is wearing her Smile shirt! Unfortunately, our camera is slow so as soon as I take the picture when she is smiling, the smile is gone before it snaps. I did get some funny faces from her though! She is notorious for those! I think she thought I was crazy and was getting a little bored from me taking all those pictures! Hope you get some good laughs out of these like we did! :) Sorry there's so many but I had a hard time choosing which ones to post!
