Happy 50th Birthday Grammy!

Last weekend we took a short trip down to Orlando to celebrate my mom's birthday. We had a surprise party for her 50th! It was Laila's first time in Orlando and staying at Grammy and Grandy Lail's house. The party was tons of fun! We had a lot of family and friends there to celebrate with us. I wish I had taken more pictures but if any of you got some other good ones, please send them my way so I can share them!

Laila also got to meet our good friends John and Erin Moss and their adorable son Isaac for the first time this past weekend! Isaac is 3 months older than Laila. They were so cute together!

Before leaving Orlando, we also had a few hours to spend with Nate's mom and sisters. Laila loved visiting with her Oma (means Grandma in German; Schuck is a German name) and her aunts! Thanks for the blueberry pancakes Linda....they were delicious! Can't wait to see you all again soon!

It was fun introducing Laila to many of our family and friends for the first time this past weekend. We wish we could have stayed longer and met up with more of our friends, but I'm sure we'll be coming back a few more times later this summer and fall. Hope to see you then!

Our first family vacation!

We had our first family vacation and Laila's first trip to the beach last week! It was awesome! The three of us went over to Panama City Beach for a few days. The weather was absolutely beautiful and it was so nice to be able to get away and relax. Laila did great! It was her first semi-long car ride and she did well with that as well. She is so much fun. We fall more and more in love with her each day! She definitely already has her daddy wrapped around her little finger!

A weekend of firsts!

This weekend was full of firsts for Laila! Not only was it her first 4th of July celebration, but she also got to meet her Uncle Matt for the first time (her one and only uncle)! She was mesmerized with him...she just kept staring! I guess he is used to that though with the ladies!!! :) Grammy and Grandy Lail also came for a visit. It is so fun to see them with her and to see how much they are in love with their first granddaughter! Laila even started giving us some grins and little smiles this weekend, pretty much for the first time (besides the gassy ones and the ones in her sleep)! She is growing up so much! I've already had to put away some of her newborn clothes that don't fit her anymore.

All of God's grace in one sweet face!

It so hard to believe that Laila is a month old now! She has been doing great overall, with the exception of some rough nights and some diaper explosions which is to be expected! :) She has grown so much, especially in this past week it seems! She is probably around 9 1/2 - 10 pounds now (she was 7 pounds when we left the hospital). She truly is the most amazing gift from God we have ever received. We feel so blessed to be her parents. We can't wait for you all to meet her!

We have had some more visitors in the past few weeks. Laila's great grandparents (Papa & Mary Alice Phelps) and her great aunt and uncle (Cathy & Bob Lail) came to meet her for the first time. Laila even got her first pair of diamond earrings and cross necklace from her great grandparents! Nate's mom stayed with us for a few days. She was a huge help with making meals, cleaning, changing diapers and loving on Laila! Joy's sister also came to visit for a few days. She brought her brand new adorable puppy, so we got to take care of our babies together! We have made so many special memories with Laila and our family already and we are looking forward to the million more to come!

If you called or emailed us these past few weeks and we never got back with you, we hope you understand. Please try calling us again now that things are starting to settle down a bit. We are really enjoying the time with just the 3 of us, but we would still love to have visitors if you are up for the trip!
