Laila's 1st Easter

Easter is one of my favorite times of the year! Even though it's so fun spending time with family and hunting for Easter eggs, I pray that as Laila gets older and starts understanding more, she will understand the true meaning of Easter. Jesus died on the cross for our sins, but he rose from the grave so that we too may live a new life. Let us rejoice....He has risen! He is alive and will return again! Thank you Lord for the amazing love you've given each and every one of us!

We had a wonderful Easter weekend celebrating with family! It started on Friday by getting to spend time laughing and playing with Grandpa and Nonna Schuck. On Saturday we had breakfast and played games with Oma, Aunt Susie, and Aunt Bekah. Sunday morning we enjoyed an awesome Easter service at First Baptist Church of Orlando with Grandpa and Grammy Lail and Great Grandma Phelps. After church Laila opened her Easter baskets and played with her new toys from all her grandparents. Later that day we had a wonderful dinner at Great Grandpa and Grandma Phelps' house. It was a fantastic weekend with many great memories made! Hope you all enjoy the pictures from Laila's 1st Easter!

But mainly I just enjoyed clapping along with the music!

Before I was a Mom...

I found this poem on one of my friend's facebook pages and had to post it. It is so true! Being a Mom is one of the greatest things in the whole world!

Before I was a Mom:
I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom:
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom:
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.

Before I was a Mom:
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom:
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Laila's Baby Dedication

On April 5th Laila was dedicated at Summit Church! It was a very special time for our family as Pastor Isaac Hunter prayed for our daughter and for us as her parents. We love being at Summit and we are very thankful for the blessing the church has been to our little family. Just as Pastor Isaac prayed on Sunday, we also pray every day that God would help Laila to grow wise, kind, gentle, and strong. We pray that God would help her to fulfill His purposes for her life and help her to become the woman He has called her to be one day. Above all, we pray that all the days of her life she will see God's immense love for her and that she will know she is His daughter. Thank you Lord for loving her more than we could ever imagine! It's hard to imagine how You could love her even more than we do, but we know You do. As her parents, please continue to give us wisdom, strength, gentleness, peace, endurance, perseverance....and all of the many things needed to raise a child. Let her know every day that she is loved. Thank you Lord for this beautiful day and this awesome time spent with family. Thank you for our precious daughter, Laila Grace, the most wonderful gift we've ever received!

I think this face was....oh no, she is going to wake up and scream when Pastor Isaac picks her up! She's been known to do that before when being startled awake!

She did great! She woke up when Pastor Isaac held her and even gave the audience a little wave, which everyone loved and thought was so cute of course!

Laila at 10 months old!

Can you believe Laila is 10 months old already? It is so hard to believe that she will be celebrating her 1st birthday soon!!! Before we know it, we'll be celebrating her 10th birthday! :)

All 10 months of Laila's life so far have been new and exciting, but I have to say that this past month has been especially fun! Her little personality is coming out more and more each day. She is cruising around everywhere and exploring everything, babbling away when she's in a talkative mood, and learning so many new things. She loves clapping her hands, waving hi and bye, trying to blow kisses, playing peek-a-boo, dancing with the music, and being tickled by Daddy! One of our favorite things she does now is give us kisses! It is so cute how she leans in (and even opens her mouth sometimes) when we ask for a kiss! :)
